There is a lot of mythology surrounding weight lifting. Lots of it, is things such as, making you slower or lacking flexibility. When it comes to female training, there is a whole host of other concerns, about becoming too bulky and the like. One additional question that women often have, is specifically linked to doing chest exercises, “Will it make me lose my boobs?” Will lifting weights cause the breasts to shrink? Let’s answer this question.
Do Chest Workouts Make Your Boobs Smaller?
Short answer, no.
Longer answer, resistance training for the chest will build muscle, which may actually add a bit of lift to your breasts. The muscle sitting underneath will grow and that could have an effect on positioning of the boobies.
Losing significant amounts of fat, can make the boobs shrink. However, this is an independent thing from using weight training. You can weight train and not lose any fat, as that is mainly a factor of dieting.
Now of course, the size of one’s boobs are going to fluctuate, based on fat loss. However, sustained fat loss, will only occur in a caloric deficit. That’s a separate action, from just lifting weights.
Also, just because you train chest doesn’t mean you’re going to end up looking like a bodybuilder. You can gain strength or keep fit, without adding a lot of mass to your physique.
